Services

Accura Engineering offers Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) services. Commonly referred to as drones, these manually controlled aircraft are operated through pre-programmed flight plans or operated by more complex automated systems involving on-board sensors and/or process data. Accura delivers to our clients a safe and reliable means of obtaining access to small and/or large remote areas.  Our teams can deliver a precise and cost-effective means of collecting pavement and grassy area digital terrain models (DTM) as well as surface-level utilities to develop a more concept-level design. Using top of the line software, we are able to generate DTM’s and point clouds that can create a 3D model of your site. All of our Certified Part 107 Pilot in Commands (PIC’s), Visual Observers, and other members of the team are all trained in the latest safety measures. The PIC is licensed with the FAA as well as all of our aircraft we fly. Accura complies with all federal, state and local authorities in obtaining any waivers or authorizations needed on site. We maintain all of our own flight records, site records, photos and maintenance logs.   Our services offered are:
  • Aerial survey & mapping
  • Roadway and corridor mapping
  • Topographic surveys
  • As-built surveys
  • Construction progress photos
  • Environmental support
  • Inspection services
  • Hi-resolution imagery and video

Our Role in the Mission

Accura played a key role in wetlands delineation, permitting, and environmental surveys to facilitate the repair and expansion of water and wastewater infrastructure. Our comprehensive approach included:

Conducting on-site investigations to assess environmental impact.

Preparing detailed permit applications for:

  • Stream stabilization/restoration across three critical water bodies&
  • The repair, replacement, and construction of new water and wastewater pipelines, including stream and wetland crossings.

Surveying threatened and endangered species, including the rare small whorled pogonia and wood turtle.

Modifying existing permits to meet updated compliance needs.

Challenges We Overcame

Working across the dynamic landscape of Fort Belvoir required:
Conducting compliance inspections under stringent environmental regulations.
Balancing infrastructure needs with environmental preservation.
Addressing multiple stream and wetland impacts (4-5 in total).

The Impact

Our work not only ensured compliance but also played a part in protecting the delicate ecosystem of Fort Belvoir. From securing permits to restoring streams, we enabled the U.S. Army to move forward with confidence, knowing their construction efforts align with their commitment to environmental stewardship.
